Why Buy a Dashcam?

Dashcams are cameras that are fitted to the interior of your car, usually on your dashboard (hence 'Dashcam') or the inside of your windscreen. These cameras record real-time moving images of whatever happens in front of your car, behind your car or even inside your car.

Use of dashcams has grown enormously in other countries in recent years, most notably Russia where almost every car now has a dashcam fitted. Dashcams are now starting to catch on here in the UK and it's not difficult to understand why.

Reasons to install a dashcam in your vehicle:

Evidence in the event of an accident
In the event of an accident, a dashcam will provide irrefutable proof of what happened. Is the other person involved telling the police or insurance company a ficticious version of events? Don't worry, your dashcam footage is your reliable witness and will make sure everybody is crystal clear about what happened.

Faster Insurance claims
Processing insurance claims is traditionally a cumbersome and time consuming process as the parties involved state their case, often embellishing the details. If you've been unfortunate enough to submit a claim in the past, you'll know that insurers often request diagrams of the build up to and aftermath of a collision. Well, those days are gone if you have a dashcam installed. Simply forward your dashcam footage to the insurance company and they have all the evidence they need to make a quick decision regarding your claim.

Insurance Fraud
'Crash for cash' scams are on the increase with criminals and fraudsters deliberately causing accidents in order to make claims against YOUR insurance. These scams are costing UK insurers nearly £400 million every year. And who pays in the long run? That's right, us law-abiding drivers.
Having a dashcam fitted will protect you against these scams by recording the circumstances before, during and after a collision.

Reporting bad drivers
Lets face it, our roads are getting busier and busier. Unfortunately, there is always a percentage of drivers who are bad or downright dangerous.
Rarely does a journey go by when you don't see something that has made you shake your head or even shout in disbelief at the behaviour of another driver. In the event that you come across a road user behaving badly, you can use your dashcam evidence to report them to the relevant authority. We anticipate a growth of programs whereby UK road users can submit evidence of bad road use, anonymously if need be, to authorities.

Parking protection
Some dashcams feature 'park mode' which is your surveillance system for when you're not in your car. That's right, if your car is parked outside your home at night, or the supermarket while you are shopping and somebody bumps into it, your dashcam will record it all, giving you the evidence to track down the culprit and let the insurers deal with it.

Recording meteors and UFO's
Well, we're not sure if anybody has caught a UFO on their dashcam yet, but as for Meteors, well, in July 2013, multiple drivers recorded spectacular footage of a significant metor impact over Russia. It was this footage that made it onto the global news networks and has been watched by hundreds of millions of people on the internet since. Whether it's the expected or unexpected, your might just help you record some of your most memorable life events.
